E-Commerce/Enterprise induces High Technology Demand in East Africa

Internet has currently emerged as the driving force of business functions without which no commerce operations in East Africa and in particular Kenya. It is saddening the recent damaging of the undersea cable connecting East Africa with the rest of the world. This has been caused by the rupturing of the fiber optic cable by a ship anchor off the Kenyan coast. It raises more questions since the ship was anchoring at a restricted area.

Amazingly, this has been a week with high internet rush which has forced safaricom outlets to sell an empty shelves for the 3-G modems. Safaricom is one of Kenya’s biggest telecommunication provider which boasts of high speed data connectivity, but could there be better speeds than what they offer? This calls for more investors in data connectivity/internet provision.

Many people are becoming tech savvy with the reduction of illiteracy levels and this posses a great challenge due to the increased market. Moreover, high technology gadgets are in high demand which calls for increased supply.

With the e-enterprising of even most of government functions and the changing business and applications environment, people need to access services with just a button click. Programmers and modern application developers should up their efforts and cash on this increased need in communication.
