Safe the Forests

Could somebody or any authority be noting this current devastating trend beleaguering our environment? It’s disgusting to note the dismal efforts being employed to conserve the world’s forests cover, irrespective of the many and great benefits derived from them. This is a plague in the offing which significantly needs an urgent attention of the world leaders.
Remarkably, forests are the major contributors of livelihood on earth. It’s from them we derive oxygen after they use carbon dioxide. Moreover, they are sources of shelter to many animals and plants, a source of medicine and cloud cover which forms over them.it is from the clouds we get rain which is the key source of water.
Deforestation adversely affects the climate. If huge areas of trees are cleared, clouds do not form, and consequently rain does not fall causing the land to become drier. The Carbon dioxide builds up leading to the global warming which is making the Earth hotter.
Many are the different operations being applied, all concerted towards deforestation. Just to mention but a few, the extensive charcoal burning, agriculture related activities, logging, encroached settlements and large scale mining
Wild fire is another cause which is depleting the earth of the much valuable forest cover. It’s a bleak situation given the grim efforts geared towards the fire menace. Negligible measures are being fronted to save Mother Nature from these infernos which are consuming acres and acres of forest cover.
It’s a wake up call to the authorities to majorly invest in more diverse ways to save and maintain forests. Afforestation should be greatly encouraged from all quarters. In addition, more energy should be devoted in devising modern fuel sources and in creation of public awareness on the importance of forests.
Governments and other organizations must keenly collaborate if we are to realize any substantial change in the conservation of the forest cover.

Environmentalists;could this be possible?

It is my view that in the best interest of each and every one and much more for the sake of the country that, the environmental body NEMA charges some fee on vehicle in the country. It could be an annual fee or a charge worthy at the purchase of the vehicle.
This should be a fee different from the one charged on vehicles transporting natural resources with adverse effects on the environment. These include transporters of sand, timber, concrete and for sure, cement ought to be in this category, it has some contribution on air pollution..
The fee should be established as compensation to the air pollution, noise pollution, soil pollution and as a direct destruction to the ecosystem. It should also be set on the time wasted due to the high traffic on the roads vis a vis the amount of time that would have been harnessed to enhance a clean environment. All in all everyone has a part to play in bettering our earth.
An environmental fund is to be set up using the fee charged. This could be invested  through various ways to boost the environment. Just to mention, but a few, tree planting to increase on oxygen discharge, construction of gabions, cleaning of rivers, and creation of environmental awareness through organized trainings.
